So many of you have asked about the lady who says, “Where’s the Dent?” Is she family, a friend, or a customer? When we began the Skent-N-Dent journey many years ago and started advertising, we wanted an adaptation of the famous Wendy’s catchphrase, “Where’s the Beef”? That eventually led to our infamous slogan, “Where’s the Dent?”
We began discussions with our ad agency at the time, describing the lady we wanted to do the commercial. They immediately knew just the right person, Phyllis Lea. She was the wife of a local advertising executive and had never done a commercial before. When we met with her we knew she was the perfect fit and she agreed to give it a try. As it turned out, she took our idea to the next level, which has been a point of conversation in our community from day one.
Phyllis starred in our commercials until the ripe old age of 82 and has really become the face of Skent-N-Dent and certainly the voice behind the slogan, “Where’s the Dent”! We are so appreciative to Phyllis for agreeing to star in our commercials. Moreover, we are forever grateful we get to keep her legacy alive through the commercials we air even today!
